options

so, what does everyone think of "queenofnothing.com" as my new domain name?
it hasn't been taken yet, but "ifiwerequeenoftheworld.com" has been taken already, and so has "queenoftheworld.com."

i'd link you to them, but i'm going to be late for work if i don't get in the shower five minutes ago.

oh, "supertiff.com" is available, too.
i really like that one, but you guys don't know any of those stories, and it certainly has nothing to do with my blog the way it is now.

i am starting to have blog moving anxiety.
when i first started working on the other site, it went so easy. but now i'm finding it difficult to make it exactly the way i want it.
apparently i have to learn how to edit css, so it might still be a while before i actually move.

i am off of work tomorrow, though.
maybe a bottle of wine and 18 hours in front of my computer will do the trick.

anyway, here's a few things i need help with:
(d.b. echo, one lonely success, i'm looking at you guys.)
(and any one else who knows the answers, obviously.)

1. can i transfer my site meter? i know it's a little retarded sometimes, but i don't want to start from zero again. i lost my old site meter when i switched to the new blogger, and 4,000 unique visits disappeared. i was not happy. i really do not want to part with my visits. i'm sure i''m the only one who looks at it, but i love it very very much.

2. nevermind. must shower. more later.

I clearly know nothing about the blog meter since I tried to install one on all my blogs and managed to get 1 up. However, I like queen of nothing. It kind of speaks to the sarcastic humor you use.

Even though I don't know the story, Supertiff rocks. In fact, I may become Superflan just because. Kidding. Anyhow, as to the questions you left on my blog--
1) Dark chocolate brown (for now), although the illustrious MS wishes I was a redhead and I dyed my hair red for the better part of 15 years and still think of myself as a redhead.
2) love fish, both as a food and as viewing, although dead fish are seriously the most disgusting thing ever invented. My dog ate a dead minnow on a walk once and ...okay, I can't go on.

Close enough though, eh?

Also, MS said you luuurve Oryx and Crake. You should give me your e-mail sometime (I'm private, so it won't get whored about) Me and MA--we tight.

Feel free to delete this for being too personalized--I will not get the slightest bit offended.

I like queenofnothing.com. It has a nice ring to it.

No idea about the sitemeter thing (said the woman who is clueless about most things relating to a website).

With Sitemeter you can start it off at whatever number you want - I think. I know there's a button for that, but I've never tried it. But I don't think there will be a way to carry over the actual data (monthly stats, visitor information, etc.) from one url to another. At the same time, I don't know why you lost your old Sitemeter data when you updated Blogger - my stuff got retained. But I remember reading on the Sitemeter Blog that the server on which your Sitemeter resides (23, is it?) was very unstable and buggy for a while.

Did you know there's a Seals and Crofts song called "King of Nothing?" As for the site meter, you can reset the start number, so you could just put it at whatver number you had when you let blogger. I don't know about the map one, though.

From the Sitemeter help page (http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=help)

I'm moving my site to new address. What do I need to do?

The only thing you need to do is update the URL of your site on the Site Meter manager page. Select "Site Information" and enter the new address of your site.

Can I start my counter at the number of visitors to my site before switching to Site Meter?

Yes, go to the manager page and select "Starting Count". On that page, you can set the starting count and date of your Site Meter .

How do I reset my counter to a specific number?

You can set the starting count for your meter. That will let you set the number of visits to your site before joining Site Meter. This will make the count shown on your site higher.
